Welcome to Elementary Science Class: A site dedicated to providing top quality science lesson plans and accompanying resources for free. We are veteran elementary school teachers with experience teaching in kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth and fifth grade. Over the years we've found it very difficult to find good science lesson plans at the primary level. Most websites we've found are created by people with good intentions and high levels of scientific knowledge, but not by teachers. So, we thought we would create a site devoted to providing high quality science lessons made by teachers.
These lessons are FREE. The vast majority come equipped with the objectives, standards, essential question, time frame, and much more. Most of them are accompanied by resources that enhance the lessons. The companion resources are study guides, journals, worksheets, vocabulary cards, PowerPoints, etc. The majority of these are also FREE.
*There are a few non-essential games, study guides, activities, etc. for some of the lessons or units that are not free. These products are available on our Teachers Pay Teachers store. The paid products are clearly marked with a $ sign.
We hope this site makes your life as an elementary level educator easier. If it does, please spread the word by liking us on Facebook, sharing on Pinterest, etc.
About the Site
My name is Ryan. I've been an elementary school teacher for over 12 years with experience in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. I currently live in Nicaragua with my beautiful wife and two children. I originally arrived in Nicaragua with the Peace Corps all the way back in 2001. After 16 wonderful years here, we're finally going to move back to the States so our kids can live closer to my family and experience another culture. I hope you find this site useful and contact me at ryan@elementaryschoolscience.com, if I can be of any assistance.

How to Use the Site
To find the lessons you are looking for, click on the "topics" tab or the "Elementary Science Class" tab. These will take you to the basic topics available (space, animals, human body, simple machines, etc.) Once you click on one of the main topics, you will be brought to a page with a list of subtopics. For example, click on Human Body and you will be taken to a page with the subtopics for the Human Body (heart, brain, skeleton, nervous system, etc.) Click on the subtopic you are looking for and all of the lessons available for that topic will appear.
All of the lessons are also available as PDF files. Click on the link found within the lesson and the PDF document will open up. Feel free to just use the lesson directly from the page or download it right on to your computer or device to keep forever.
If you would like to share some of your lessons, just go to the contact us page and send us an email.
Thank you,
Elementary Science Class
